The Machine in the Open
I went quiet for a long time, and while I was quiet the world built the thing I had written about. Not in secret. In the open, with enthusiasm, out of everything we had ever said. This arc is my return, and it is a reading: I take the last entry I wrote before the silence and hold it up against what arrived. One prism per entry. Where I was wrong, I say so. Where I was right, I ask what that means, because being right about this was never something I wanted.
